Why won't my Real Media encoder stay connected?

The encoder will disconnect if there is a failure in the network between our servers and your encoding computer. The real server is not disconnecting you directly, but it will get disconnected whenever there is a network failure.
Most likely, you are losing connectivity for a few seconds or minutes to our servers. This could be from your local area network, or from your provider's routes to our network. To troubleshoot your network connection, please read our Knowledgebase article titled "The Encoder is Buffering or Losing Connection."

If you have tested your network health and everything looks fine, try changing the broadcast mode from TCP to UDP, or from UDP to TCP. One of these modes may work better than the other, depending on the configuration of your local network.
This option is set in the preferences of Real Producer.
